I have chosen Louis Vuitton (pronounced Loo-ee Vee-tawn).
As of some other luxury brands such as Prada, Louis Vuitton started off small making trunks for world travel. Till date, Louis Vuitton is an international symbol of status exclusive for the rich and famous, with celebrities and socialites constantly spotted holding a bag with Louis Vuitton monogram all over (blatant advertising).
I agree to Joan that Louis Vuitton is internationally renowned and highly regarded for name recognition in the fashion world however other luxury brands is also carried by people of status too. The impressive part of LV is that they handmade all their luggage bags which require a long period of time to even produce 1 luggage bag.

ReplyDeleteTill now, LV is still in high demand because of its luxurious design and quality.However, it has attracted many manufacturers to counterfeit their merchandises.
ReplyDeleteLouis Vuitton will be always remembered by it's trademark LV monograms that were being used throughout it's product line with different implementations. It have a long history behind the name and provides high quality luxury products that are used widely by celebrities which leads to the increase in the brand overall status. LV had also collaborated with artists such as stephen sprouse and kanye west for some limited edition products.

ReplyDeleteAlthough LV is an high end brand and everyone is attracted to it, i feel that it's a little overratted.
ReplyDeleteThough most pieces are classy and good, there have been some that are not 'worth it'.
LV is definitely one of the most recognizes brand in the fashion industry.
ReplyDeleteAnd I remembered a friend of mine said this,"A woman will go crazy over a LV bag just like how a man go crazy over soccer." I totally agree to this sentence:p
A LV bag goes well with almost anything. As mentioned above by some, its high demand caused counterfeits to appear to satisfy the needs of the people who cannot afford the luxurious brand's merchandise. This is very sad though.
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned by Cynthia and Mevalia that there appears to be a significant amount of LV counterfeits all over the world, the company actually takes a very serious view over this. Curious over why there were more counterfeits from other high-end fashion brands such as Gucci, Juicy Couture, etc, I found out that it is because LV actually employs special investigators to do frequent checks and actually pursue actions against these counterfeit sellers. Hence, vendors tend to be very careful when handling their counterfeit goods and keep their LV off the displays.
ReplyDeleteI think the counterfeits look so much like the original ones (especially for monogram series)... Even if they hired people to check on it, if there's a demand from the poor people who can't afford but craves having one, there will still be supply. Moreover, even if you are carrying the real thing, people won't think of it as the real thing 'cos they totally can't tell from a fast glance! Should LV do something more than just to hire people to keep track on the counterfeit goods? Maybe... They can come out with new designs or technologies that is exclusive to LV & is hard or even impossible to be reproduced by the others? :]
ReplyDeleteLV is just like GUCCI. Out of 10 people , 7 people will be holding on to LV. Mostly the damier neverfull or the monogram bags or wallet. Most women desire the luxurious brand, however they still buy blindly without understanding it.
