BENEFIT- San Francisco!

Created by a pair of twins, Jean & Jane Ford in 1976, the San Francisco beauty boutique with a whimsical candy store atmosphere. The overall look of the brand is quirky & fresh, as the Ford Twins once said that,
"Who says makeup has to be serious to be good?"
The shop grew famous for delivering quick fixes for every girl's beauty dilemmas, & with the double dose of wackiness mixed with know-how, they successfully built Benefit Cosmetics into a global beauty brand.
The "friskiest luxury brand" now has over 1000 counters in more than 25 countries.
WOW.
(P.S. Recently the popularity of this cosmetic line has went up a lot in Singapore!)

Panadol

A Trusted Pain Reliever For Generations

i have decided to work on Panadol.
Back in the late 19 century, quinine was scarce and it was used extensively by doctors to treat fever. This sparked the search for a synthetic substitute, which led to the discovery Panadol.

In the 1960s, Sterling Winthrop brought Panadol to Singapore (then part of Malaya). Initially, it was marketed solely through hospitals, where it received strong medical endorsement because of its excellent safety profile. This established Panadol's widespread acceptance among Singaporeans.

From its founding to today, it has remained the medication of choice for pain and fever relief and for both acute and chronic pain.
Indeed, Panadol is so much a part of our lives that Singaporeans use the brand name when referring to pain relievers in general.

Freitag

Photobucket

I’ve chose to work on Freitag. Back in 1993, graphic designer brothers Markus and Daniel Freitag were on the lookout for a messenger bag. Zurich citizens worthy of the name travel by bicycle. When it rains, they get wet. The FREITAG brothers wanted a heavy-duty, functional and water-repellent bag to carry their designs. Inspired by the cheerfully coloured lorries rumbling along the cross-Zurich highway just in front of their flat, they cut a messenger bag out of an old truck tarpaulin. As the carry belt, they used second-hand car seat-belt webbing, while an old bicycle inner tube provided the edging.

As luck would have it, their personal need turned into a business which now employs more than 80 people. Since their original messenger bag, the FREITAG brothers have developed and marketed more than 40 bags for women and men. FREITAG products now sell round the globe, in over 300 shops.

I've chose to work on FCUK, otherwise known as French Connection United Kingdom. It was founded in the united kingdom in 1972 by Stephen Marks.

It operates as a multiple specialist fashion retailer, which sells clothing and accessories in many parts of the world.

Its business ethic is to produce designer quality clothes at affordable prices, which they market in an advantageous and original way.

When a controversial ad campaign featuring the simple line "fcuk fashion" hit the headlines, the attitude of the brand was established.

Bold, witty and intelligent, it demonstrates how French Connection has given personality to its brand.

However, French Connection has expanded into new markets at a remarkable rate and hence it has enlarge its range of products. It has developed into a brand licensing company rather than solely a fashion retailer.

The name, Starbucks comes from Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, a classic American novel about the 19th century whaling industry.
The logo is an image of a "twin-tailed siren" (The siren of Greek mythology).

Now, Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse company in the world with 16,120 stores in 49 countries.

Vespa

Vespa is an Italian line of scooters produced by Piaggio.

Piaggio focused on producing aircraft during World War I. Unfortunately during World War II, their fighter plane plant was demolished by bombing. As a result, the son of Piaggio's founder decided to create a modern and affordable mode of transportation for the masses which eventually lead to the creation of Vespa.

Through these years, Vespa has consistently produced up-to-date scooters to suit the everchanging tastes of the market yet still keeping their classic shape and style.

IKEA

IKEA is a Swedish-Dutch home products company. Its products range from (mainly) furniture to traditional Swedish groceries. Founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA is currently the world's largest furniture manufacturer.

The company prides itself as the retailer of stylish, fuctional and affordable furniture- its product design is unique to the company and its emphasis on form, function and price is reflected on everthing within its product range.

IKEA's promotion is carried out in three different areas: the stores, its advertising and most distinctly, its catalogue. While the store layouts and catalogues worldwide are generally standardised, the company's advertisements varies with accordance to the market.

However, beyond its marketing strategies, what proves to be the primary reason of its success, is its honest and 'pro-consumer' approach, which continues to establish IKEA as a strong brand today.
