IKEA is a Swedish-Dutch home products company. Its products range from (mainly) furniture to traditional Swedish groceries. Founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA is currently the world's largest furniture manufacturer.
The company prides itself as the retailer of stylish, fuctional and affordable furniture- its product design is unique to the company and its emphasis on form, function and price is reflected on everthing within its product range.
IKEA's promotion is carried out in three different areas: the stores, its advertising and most distinctly, its catalogue. While the store layouts and catalogues worldwide are generally standardised, the company's advertisements varies with accordance to the market.
However, beyond its marketing strategies, what proves to be the primary reason of its success, is its honest and 'pro-consumer' approach, which continues to establish IKEA as a strong brand today.
Ikea furniture is affordable, yet keeps up with the furniture trends although it is of lower quality. so if i ever grow sick of the piece of furniture after awhile or if it were to break or be stained, it would not be that a heartache.

ReplyDeleteThe merchandises of IKEA are very affordable and yet they provide a variety of designs for each category of products. Love their ads too.
ReplyDeleteIkea not only provides furniture, household products and even a swedish grocery. It is very convenient as people could drop by Ikea to get furniture for their house, at the same time they can also buy other products in which they need, when they get tired shopping they can even have a bite at its restaurant. On the other hand, pricing is affordable thus not a problem.
ReplyDeleteWhen this tone of blue and yellow are put together, even without the typographic, it makes me think of Ikea.
ReplyDeleteAffordable pricing, stylish and trendy furniture and items, loves this brand.
Ikea provides affordable furnitures and products and are known for their DIY line of products as it will be easily transported from their stores to consumer's homes. They collaborated with designers to produce some exclusive and innovative products to cater to the higher end consumers. Most importantly, they even have demos and mock displays set up, to give consumers a rough idea or inspiration for their house's interior designs.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to furniture, people will think of Ikea first as Ikea has a wide range of furniture for consumers to choose yet the pricing is affordable. Their adaptable home furniture allow consumers to mixed and match them. Ikea also used their furniture to display a bedroom, bathroom etc. to provide the consumers a better visual of how the furniture will turn out if it is display in different ways.
ReplyDeleteIKEA offers a wide range of products which are interesting and affordable. It is place everyone has been to and there are definitely things you like.Even the food is good and somethings can only be found there.
ReplyDeleteIKEA is attractive because of the huge variety of products it has and it affordable prices!
ReplyDeleteIKEA's blue and yellow often gets me mixed up with courts though. :)
actually, i love ikea. and i believe it has changed a lot since the 1990s. i do have ikea furniture, such as cupboards and tables which are probably about 20years of age? and it is still in very good condition. but if you were to look at the furniture being sold at ikea today, you will relise that they are catering more to people who might want to change their furniture every 4 to 5 years? a new change, a new look, something modern. i feel that ikea has become more affordable and creative as always in their furniture like the lamps, the plates, the boxes and watering cans.
ReplyDeleteIKEA has created a huge impact on me since young as I had never been to a bigger furniture store than this. The way they market their products and services are also very appealing. Unlike how furniture stores commonly display their products in categories (such as all beds in bed section), they arrange their furniture to create a certain atmosphere to appeal to consumers with different tastes.
ReplyDeleteIKEA provides a holistic experience for its' shoppers. Personally I like to visit IKEA with my family and friends. Apart from their variety of furniture, their cafe also provides swedish cuisine such as meatballs which I love!
ReplyDeleteI guess all of us here love IKEA! I really applaud them for their wide arrays of products, from big furnitures to the smallest possible fixtures in your house. you name it, they have it. I also like the idea of not giving us plastic bags, all of us are encouraged to bring our own bags or paper bags so they are actually indirectly raising awareness of environmental issues.
ReplyDeleteIKEA is not just about having nice & simple designs :] I think they are trying to introduce Swedish culture to us too, as they serve Swedish food that are totally awesome! :]
ReplyDelete& being afforable is a plus point too! :]
However, I think the store I went to (Alexandra Road outlet) is a little messy... Doesn't seem to be as simple & neat as their designs potray their brand to be.
Should there be something done to their Visual Merchandising? But nonetheless, the brand itself has a very strong concept that says 'SIMPLE, BEAUTIFUL & AFFORDABLE'! :]
Oh, & the part done for saving the earth makes me wanna support their products too, as many furniture makers go for wood that destroys our environment & gives LOTS of plastic bags. Shopping bag is the way to go! :]
IKEA is a very wonderful store which includes many different furniture and designs of house decorations. In Singapore, there is one new IKEA store which is the biggest in Singapore. located at Tampinese. the prices sold in IKEA is all affordable to everyone. Everything there that you bought is useful and beautiful. i will say thats the right place to recommend everyone to get their different designs of furniture.
