Logitech

In 1981, Logitech International S.A. was co-founded in Switzerland by two Stanford Masters alumni. The company started with mice, which was new at that time. This was to provide a more intuitive way of relating with a personal computer. For a time during its shaping years, Logitech's Silicon Valley offices occupied space at California, home to a number of noted technology startups.
From there, Logitech expanded its product line to encompass many mass market computer side-lines and beyond (such as the "Harmony" range of programmable universal remote controls).

With products sold in almost every country in the world, Logitech’s leadership in innovation now encompasses a wide variety of personal peripherals (both cordless and corded), with special emphasis on products for PC navigation, gaming, Internet communications, digital music and home-entertainment control.

Co-founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, Microsoft Corporation a United States-based multinational computer technology corporation, has built a dominant position the computer industry. Microsoft possesses footholds in other markets, with assets such as the MSNBC cable television network, the MSN Internet portal, and the Microsoft Encarta multimedia encyclopedia. The company also markets both computer hardware products such as the Microsoft mouse as well as home entertainment products.

Microsoft is Logitech's primary competitors in the corded- and cordless-mouse and keyboard markets. Microsoft's not the only competitor Logitech has as the latter provides a wide range of products.
